I went for a ride yesterday after fitting a new set of plugs. Started missing down low on one cylinder and then with more revs it would catch and go like normal. Got home and idled on all cylinders and then promptly died. No spark at all.
I have used the multi meter under the seat and checked as per the shop manual. The ignition windings fell within the correct range at120 . Thepick up coils read 150 , also in the correct range. Charge windings show 1. Is this the problem because reading should be 20 to 30.? Electrics are not by any means my strong suit so, is the stator gone? This is the first problem I have had with this bike after 3 years. These procedures were on pages 149 thru 151 of the shop manual.

In addition. Battery is 12.9 volts. Main fuse is good. Kill switch is in run position.

Be sure motor is grounded. There should be a ground strap from engine to frame.

Ground strap is there as always. Bike has run flawlessly for the past three years. The only change I did was put in new plugs the day it broke down. I even put the old ones back in to be sure they weren't the culprit.

I was told that the stators for H1 E/F were the same as KH but the parts manual shows a different number for the KH. Is it different ?

There must be 2 moons in the sky. I got the stator from triplestuff and installed it and the bike actually runs. I successfully used a ohm meter and the findings were correct. Watch out, I'll be getting pretty cocky now . Maybe we should have an" ask Dave" section... But, maybe not.....

Since I've never answered a question correctly to date yet, I'd gladly pass the reins Dave! 🤣

You seem to be the only one on here with projects any more Dave.
