Longest rebuild ever for me. Suzi parts are harder to get. Complete engine rebuild. That thing is a hernia in the making. I had to get my son's huge body builder friend to lift it off the bench for me. Did the timing today. Added oil. Now, I wonder if it will run ??

It will soon be outside. Of course, finishing up I went to put the starter cover on and found that I should have done it before putting the carbs on. So, .... some things never change.

Too cocky. It started but only on 1 cylinder. Lots of spark, no gas. Took the carbs apart 2 more times and used a bunch of carb cleaner to no avail. I boughta nice clean set of carbs from a guy in Caledon. Now I am waiting for a new fuel petcock. Again, it's a hurry up and wait situation waiting on covid mail....
Got bored waiting so I bought an 85 Yamaha FJ1100 to fill in some time. Beautiful cosmetic shape, cheap price. Now waiting on a new solenoid for that.....

Started right up with the newer carbs. A bit of fine tuning and it will be ready.

Looks great Dave
Someone has been driving one around here lately. Haven't met him yet but I've seen him 3 or 4 times.

Great job Dave. Looks just like the one I raced about 5 years ago at Mosport. I just picked up a t500 a few weeks ago same colour. Brad

Ok, a quiz for you home mechanics. I pose this question because I am not getting a lot of help on the GT board. 74 GT750. New pistons, rings etc and fresh bore. good compression all around. Crank redone with bearings and seals. Timing is dead on using dial indicator and meter for opening of points. New points and condensers. Coils swapped out too just in case. Carbs off and cleaned at least 4 times. Starts easily and idles ok. On take off it has no power. Once moving if I gently roll on throttle it pulls nicely like it should. I have spent too much time on this with nothing to show for it. Anyone got an idea? Please ?? Oh yeah, I've got to sell this in order to pay for this.

I believe so. As far as I know, no changes have been made but I can't be sure.
