Thanks Walms, I'll try resoldering the Center pickup. Also going to try Zambia's spare Stator

Had a heck of a time trying to get my stator out of it's housing, but with some heat from a heat gun, a hammer, a chisel and alot of PB blaster I finally got it out. Swapped in Zambias spare stator and voltage regulator and the bike fired right up. Unfortunately it is still backfiring / misfiring on the Center Cylinder anywhere above 1400 rpm I have now put in a new plug, swapped carbs, cdi units, ignition coils, stator and voltage regulator. I did measure voltage across the battery with the bike running and it's only 9V. Could this issue be caused by a crank sea gone bad? Anything else I should try? Thanks, Arthur

Only 9volts while running ?

Yes, 9V while running around 1500 RPM. I think the headlight was off too.

As you probably already know - you do not have a functioning charging system

This is weird for sure. You have stock pipes on, right? I wonder if the centre pipe might be clogged? That won't explain the lack of charging, but when my regulator fried a couple of years ago .. the lights went out as the battery died, but the bike ran perfectly fine. SO I think you have 2 issues, maybe related and maybe not. I suppose a crank seal could cause a misfire but it sounds like it is electrical to me.

Not saying that it has anything to do with your misfiring issue but an H2 will be limited in rpm if the regulator/rectifier is malfunctioning. I'd suggest you fix the charging system prior to trying to diagnose the ignition issue.

Definitely the right way to go. I installed the Lakeland regulator when I first got my H2 so that charging system would not be an issue when I had to figure out other electrical problems that were bound to crop up.

Thanks guys, I was thinking the regulator was the next (and final?) thing that I could try.

I also agree with this - and was convinced that the rectifier was to blame .. that was swapped and didn't solve the problem. I guess the battery might be toast and unable to take or hold a charge but...man, this is weird.
