G'day, I've heard a lot of debate regarding surface finish of sand blast (glass bead) VS vapor blast. I'm not here to argue on one vs another; only to show what the surface finishes look like under a stereo microscope for shits and giggles. I used the cylinder heads off my H2 as the subject matter. The heads already had a rougher surface finish from the original casting. *I'll dig up another original head soon to show factory finish. VAPOR BLASTING

Cool, it definitely looks like smaller media was used for vapour blasting , any spec on that?

I was under the impression that vapor blasting is water with an added media to it.. Not sure on what they used

Yes, there is a media mixed with water. And I will be doing a conversion soon myself, as a few guys have converted their dry bead blaster to a vapor blaster. Sealing up everything really well and then adding a mixer at the bottom to keep the glassbead in suspension.
