Hey guys,
So I've been picking away on our 73 RD350. Yesterday I gave it some juice to check the electrical and everything (lights, gauges, horn) worked EXCEPT for NO spark.
I'm going to try new plugs tonight just because I'm going to replace them regardless but could there be any other quick checks I can do. The Bike is basically brand new with only 600miles so it's not like it's been torn apart and stored in a shed rotting for 20 years. The ONLY other thing is about 15 years ago my delinquent brother tried to get it running and was tinkering around with it, however he claims it worked ok but who knows.
Thanks!

Oooooo. Brake clean isn’t a good idea. Pretty dry burn, and hot.....

You will likely need to clean up the points.Turn the key on & wiggle a screwdriver around between the points. You should see some sparking there.Turn the key off.Run a point file through the points a few times. If you dont have one, the striking part of an old match book works well.or some very fine emmery cloth. Brad I was going to say the same thing, but if you click on that link on his last post he already did that in the video and got it running.

Nice RD btw! I can't believe it has such low mileage. You should think about doing the crank seals though.

Nice RD btw! I can't believe it has such low mileage. You should think about doing the crank seals though. It originally belonged to a women who raced them and bought this one for the street. She didn't like riding on the road so my dad bought it in secret, rode it home from Toronto and hid it in my aunt's garage. With the miles be so low i honestly dont plan on riding it. Just clean it up the best I can and preserve it.

I couldnt tell you.... apparently my dad even gave the bill of sale to my uncle to hold onto and it's since been lost over the last 40 years
All i know is that she raced them back in the 70s, didnt like the road and sold it. Was Kathleen a road racer back then?
