While a bunch of you guys were terrorizing the poor residents of Michigan I was at, what's turned out to be, Manitoba's premier Motorcycle show. Hosted jointly by the Manitoba Harley Owners Group, the Antique Motorcycle Club of Manitoba (AMCM), and the South Beach Casino which is located about 70km N. of Winnipeg on the way to Lake Winnipeg beaches. Open to all makes and models this is the third year of the show. It's gotten bigger each year. Last year there were over 1100 bikes registered and this year, with the weather hot and sunny, I'm guessing upwards of that - maybe 1400-1500. I entered my recently restored '72 H2 in the Japanese category. The other option would have been Vintage but then I'd have been up against the likes of beautifully restored Indians, Vincents, etc. I'd guess there were at least a couple of hundred other Japanese bikes entered with quite a few contenders for the top spot but, happily, my bike won! I came away with a nice plaque and $200 in cold, hard cash. Lots of interest in it and tons of positive comments. (It's a relief that I finally got this thing out in the sunlight instead of hiding under a cover in my garage.)

Congrats on the win. Looks like a great event.
Maybe some of us could get out there next year to see it.
