I just did a total rebuild on an H2 engine. Bike runs fantastic. I got a new crank from (Porschdave) I put in New Wossner pistons rebuilt trans with proper shimming new gears and shift forks. Nothing was done to the clutch as it was in great condition and was working fine. When i set up the clutch the adjuster screw went in so far before it felt resistance that the lock nut would only thread on 1 1/2 turns (barely on) I knew this was'nt perfect but was excited to ride the bike so i did. Clutch worked good for a while. Now it is slipping and i cant get a good adjustment. I am 100% sure everything on the clutch is correct. It has the short rod, long rod, steel ball and the clutch pusher. All of the rods looked great, no questionable wear. Without yet taking off the clutch cover and looking, what could be wrong? Clutch worked fine before the rebuild. It seems like something is missing. Maybe i should have looked at the clutch before posting this but again i am sure everything is correct. Any suggestions? Thanks...

You sure the ball didn't fall out? Sounds like that would be the problem.

I might pull the short rod and try to fish out the long rod from the actuator side and see what comes out. (can they be fished out from the left side?) But sometimes they have to be pushed out. I guess I should just remove the clutch cover and see for sure. Thanks...

I was wondering about that thick thrust washer - I had an H2 motor without one of those and did not disengage properly at all.

Well I took off the clutch cover and found the ball. Found it WASNT THERE. Don't know how I lost it. I know I put it in. I think maybe after I put everything in I may have removed the clutch pusher for some reason and pulled the ball out with it. But anyways it is in now, lots of room for the lock nut. This time no drinking while wrenching, maybe that was my problem. Its too late to fire it up now but I will get the neighbors up early and see how it runs. I will try to post a video with the stinger pipes on. The cops have been giving be a bit of static but no tickets yet. I have some freshly paint Bill Wigglies ready to put on if the cops shut me down.
