I have soaked CDI boxes in the stuff with great results. As the reflector plate and other parts are plastic with a chrome looking coating, it may be a crap shoot on how they look afterwards. Any bolts or nuts that are not chrome or stainless may grey badly if soaked too long as well. Soaked the rear brake lamp switch from my KH400 as the lock nuts were rusty. Dropped the whole thing in ER for a day and it looks and works like new. Even cleaned up those grubby lookin bullet end connectors.

I couldn't see how to pull the harness through the back plate without bending and prying etc..any tips? For the time being I'm giving it a shallow bath in evaporust and see how that works.

I've been looking at the repo's. Just trying to keep as many original parts as possible if I can.
After the Evaporust bath it came out pretty good. All the chrome along the outside is real nice. Only a bit of rust still left in the groove running along the rubber gasket. I soaked it in used liquid so may try another 12hr soak in some fresh stuff to take care of the rest of it.
