Ok, I used an online calculator this time around for my guess... 13.1 at 102mph

You pretty much got it !! I don't think anyone is going to get any closer than that ? Bike ran a low 13.Although Autofobe nailed the MPH 99-100 MPH.The ET was 13:16.I am happy with the combo.Because I am confident that it is a really solid and deep into the mid 12 second ET range combo, when we have a chance to make adjustments on the wheelie bar and put a good tire on it.The Battlak tire on it isn't a soft compound and there is only a 2" center contact patch on it.The rest of the tire is corner contact.Needs a good tire.I might even get a slick.I am going to change the 14T front sprocket that I put on ASAP.It is NOT a good choice for the drag strip. The 14T sprocket contributed to the traction loss and the bike wanting to lift the front in first and second gear.Making it most difficult to launch. But where it hurt the MOST was on top.The bike was running out of steam going past the stripe, through the traps, at end of the track.Turning 8500 RPM according to the tach at ONLY 100 MPH.And too at that point the 28 MM carbs were done!Choking the engine, starving for more air.It should launch better with the 15T up front and will produce a much better MPH.Who knows maybe even a 16T will work ? Would like to get the launching and poor traction issue sorted out.So we can do some other testing.I would like to go back at least one more time this year on a good test and tune day so that we can make as many passes as we want and have time to make adjustments.Yesterday was NOT good day for that.Like to try the 15 T front sprocket next. And then maybe bolt on a set of stinger chambers and see what happens ? 13.16 ET & 100 MPH yesterday.

Thanks !! You pretty much nailed it !! As you can all see there is a wheelie bar on the bike.I would NOT attempt to try and launch the bike hard with out it.Especially with the 14 T front sprocket !! Even with the bar on, it was spinning the tire through first and second gear and the front of the bike lifted and hit the bar and came back down a few times through first and second. And you have to keep the revs up when launching or it will drop below the power band. With out the bar the bike might come up too high and with the tires spinning and the bike up in the air things could get out of shape real quick.Bar is really a a safety measure. With a slick and a bigger front sprocket.I am sure the ET and MPH in the 1/4 will improve.Just couldn't get the bike to hook up and get traction.Lowering the tire pressure down to 15 LBS helped. But really need a good tire AKA: A SLICK to be consitent and get accurate testing results.Engine performed real well.

My brothers and I have a Muscle Car Performance and Restoration shop for 30 years.Much of it involves going to the track and running the cars and tuning them and racing them etc.The localtrack is about a half hour away from us.We go quite often.Perhaps for over 30 years now ? Go to different drag strips for shows and race events too.And too now for the past several years with bikes.

Put the 15 T front sprocket on yesterday. Was going to go back to the track today but misty weather.Took it out for a ride and it seems to feel better at 6K+ RPM with the 15 T.Won't know for sure the results until we go back to the track.Cruising RPM better and at around 5K at indicated 70 MPH.One thing we discovered at the track is that the speedometer is way off.Indicating 70 MPH and actually at 65 MPH.Going through the traps speedo reads 110 MPH and actually 100 MPH.The faster you go the more optimistic the speedo becomes.hopefully we make it back to the track before it closes.

my kz 1000 had a slick and i would run 9-10 lbs tire pressure sometimes if the bike hooked hard you better have the rpms up or else the motor would bog it ran consistent high 10's...if you know drag racing then the track temp weather temp..prep..etc. all has bearings on your times........ just got back from nhra vegas pros were changing tune ups when a cloud came over and cooled the track a bit........google cruze pedregon in vegas if want to see a real wheelie!
