It's so hard to say "the best tire for a sport touring" because you can have a sport touring that weighs 350 or one that weighs 650, more HP or less. Aggressive rider or a pansy rider.
I had a customer come in with a Honda ST1300, Fred can attest that is a pretty awesome scoot. He swore up and down he would only run Avons on that bike, he got 28 thousand kms, they worked excellent in wet and dry weather and hugged the road tighten than a toddler to his mother. Another customer with the same bike came in and swore up and down Metzlers, he had the Avons and couldn't get any kms out of them they were all over the place and just hated them. That customer was an ex road racer, a much more aggressive rider than the first....
I had BT45s on my Yamaha Radian 600 and they were great, I put BT45s on my 2005 Suzuki GS500 and hated them....
What I tell customers when they ask me what tire to run, I tell them to get on a forum specifically for their bike, and see what other people run and why.

Good points Curtis . I guess like you say , it depends on the rider but I am more than super happy having BT 45's on my triple . There perfect on pavement and gravel roads and great in the wet but alas , still really slippery on street car tracks and stainless steel plates ... The verdict is still out on my con . I have Dunlops on that bike . They seem ok but the next set will be a better quality tire . I dont think there the best for snow rides ...

The verdict is still out on my con . I have Dunlops on that bike . Had a few different tires on my Connie Mike, but the best all around ones were BT 023 front and rear. Tendency to flatten off in the center, from a lot of high speed highway miles. Great in the corner as far as I cared to push it and a good rain navigator as well.

It's gonna take me a while to wear out the Dunlops but for sure will get the BT's next tire change . I think the front tire I replaced was a BT and the back was an Avon . Thanks Mike
