That's cool. I wish one of my friends had one...so I could see it ..and maybe ride it...but I wouldn't have to have it in my garage!

Ya, me too Zambia! I nominate Ned. They're kinda homely lookin' in my opinion, but they're the 'real deal' under that odd fibreglass body!!

I don't care much for the Craig Vetter styles but they were very unique. That's for sure. Curtis, the turbo engine in this has nothing to do with the GPZ750 Turbo that the factory put out. That was a completely different breed of bike and engine. It looks like Vetter may have used the turbo kit from the 1978 Z1r-TC. Alan Masek, a former Kawasaki USA general manager who had helped with the original Z1 project, had started a company called the Turbo Cycle Corporation in California. Masek made an arrangement with Kawasaki in North America to take stock pastel-blue Z1-Rs, install the ATP kit at TCC, then have the completed “Z1R-TC” sold through Kawa dealers without a warranty. Mr. Ned may like this one.

I had a GPZ750 Turbo back in the day. Pulled as hard as my brothers' GPZ900 up to 140mph. Quicker than any of my friends 750's, in a straight line. Corners were a bit of a problem. Felt, and looked dated compared to the GPZ900. Always though that Pastel blue and the pin stripping on the Z1R's looked very classy.
