Anyone have an idea where to source some pipes and maybe even wheels for Franks project? Perhaps pipes for another older 250-350 yammy would work?

Pipes for those bikes are hard to come by.The header pipes screw to the head. You might be able to use ds6 mufflers but the head pipes on those are bolt on.The pipes on yours were used from about 59-67 on all 250's & 305's.You better put chambers on as you will have a long wait on a decent set.As far as rims go,any 36 spoke 18" Reproduction decals,Mikes xs 650,Walridge motors, can supply rims & spokesMikes has flanged ones for under $100.if you are going custom. Or you can just pack it all in & sell it to me.

Its not my bike, it belongs to Frank, who often goes with me to Tweed. He just blew a ton on having the motor rebuilt, so I am pretty sure he wants some decent pipes. A guy I contacted on the web said he has a decent set. I am awaiting photos.

The only chambers made to fit were race Td1/b/c& they were not the same frame.I have a set of the C pipes for mine but they are hens teeth. You could look for a set for an R5(piston port)or Rick or Walms have a program to get you close if you want to build a set.You could copy mine but the are for a highly modified bike.If he is going to restore it I would keep looking & just stick any Yamaha pipes on it for now.
