Lots of guys have used one over the years, I wouldn't make it from aluminum tho.

Bloody'ell, I just took a closer look at that drawing. The caliper is only held on by one bolt! I realise it is now "pushing" into the fork leg, but it kinda concerns me. ? It's still held directly with 2 bolts, the middle and bottom ones keep the bracket orientation correct relative to the caliper and the top and bottom ones fasten to the fork leg. It's real sturdy.

Arrgh, now I've gotcha. Need to get glasses sorted out, eye test next week. Old age creeping on is a bas***d. Anyway, nuff said. Thanks once again. Itching to get going on this kinda stuff. Lot of time redirected clearing snow recently. Roll on Spring.

Is there any reason why the later EX '94 onwards master cylinder wouldn't work with the left hand caliper? The master cylinders look identical but have different part numbers. Apologies for the thread jack. I've been scouring flee-bay while I have the house to myself for once and want to get ordering stuff!

A quick google image search shows later exs with double disks. If the master cylinder operates a double disk it will have a larger bore than one designed for a single disk. It'll work, but with more effort and less travel.

Thanks. I've bought a zx750 caliper off Ebay for $20. Looks identical to the EX. I acutally have a Tengai in the garage which has the same caliper on also. Some brake pad manufacturers list the EX and ZX on the back, others don't. I think it might be something to do with the compound. This is the first part I've bought for the resto. Only another... shit load to go!

The only issue I see with aft caliper position and desired caliper selection is the speedo drive and chrome hub cover. Speedo drive and chrome cover are position sensitive. Bike IMO looks best with a chrome cover in a single disk format. I monkey'd around with mine with what I had available wanting the unit aft of the fork leg however I was not restricted by the speedo drive as I had a magnetic speed sensor.(simply put the chrome cover and speedo drive cannot share the same side of the wheel hub)

I did not have to modify my speedo. It will work with the stock cable.

RT, you have your disc on the right. There would be no issues with the disc on the left. Both the speedo drive and the chrome cover would remain in their original positions.
