As easy as these engines are to split, you don't want to just swap cases? I'd rather keep the matching engine cases with the bike - It's a '69 build date on original bore and seems to be low mileage. I wondered about patching in a piece from a scrap set of cases - that would take some serious welding skill. I do intend to paint the case eventually. Thanks for the suggestions...anyone with early cases that are otherwise trash? Thanks for all the compliments guys. I did lots of this stuff back in the day, I think it takes more patience's than skill and it helps having a good tig box of coarse. Ian was hoping to keep the matching original engine cases with the bike. Thats why I did the repair. Ian's done some great restorations so I hope this can be one more on that list of great triples. He's helped me before so it's a pleasure to return the favor. Thanks again everyone.
