Soon be Vetrans Day or Remembrance Day as you fellas say. Some of you may recall meeting a buddy of mine from London ON who came to our 1st smoke out at the Paris fairgrounds. He sends me a lot of funny stuff, but today he sent me this. He like myself, has a good bit of military history as far as family goes.
Dont forget the vet, on the 11th boys.

Thank you, Steve. very touching. Every year I tell you guys about the hardships my Dad endured being shot down jn WW2. He experienced pain from the wounds for the rest of his life. Never once complained.
I wear a poppy each year and my thoughts always go to him. Always there for me and my brothers and sister. never a thought for himself and never a complaint. Flying Officer, TF Heron. Thanks Dad. My kids always wear a poppy and go to the Cenataph each year too. I will never forget.

Thanks for sharing Steve! A really nice song. I scored one of these today, the Legion has added to their offerings.

Thanks for sharing Steve! A really nice song. I scored one of these today, the Legion has added to their offerings. Do you know if these are available at all Legions? I will wear that very proudly if I can find one.
My father served in the RCN during Korea, and I have a great, great uncle who was at Vimy Ridge.

Truth be told, it was a Legionnaire selling them at the liquor store.

thanks Steve. A very touching song for sure. I am looking forward to seeing my son in a few weeks when he comes home for a 4 week X-Mas leave. in Oct, him and 3 buddies drove home friday from Gagetown NB for Thanksgiving and back on monday. That was the best weekend I have ever had. Private Thomas Dillabough-Engineers will be shipped to Ontario in the new year. One day I am sure he'll be doing a Mid-East tour....... thanks to our Vets and current service members support fighting a nearly invisible enemy!

My Son, 19years old, attends Guelph University. He was in a lecture yesterday morning. At 11:00 AM he interupted the Prof to say, please stop sir, it is eleven o'clock. They stopped the lecture for a minute of silence then continued. Yes, just a little proud of him.

I'm a day late on this, Thanks Steve, I was really happy that yesterday at work we all too a min of silence but I asked Gwen if they did at work and she said nobody even recognised a moment of silence, I was really surprised and disappointed.
I always watch war documentaries and there is the one Canadian guy I think he was from Nova Scotia, on D Day storming the beach, he too shrapnel in the face, then he took a bullet right through the foot, and he kept on going after he dressed his own foot, then he took a bullet through his jaw and he last have is jaw and he said "I was spitting out teeth and gum" and this guy still kept on going. what do you say to that but wholly crap he was a supper man.
