Working on my Buds H1B I have installed 2 throttle cables.1 original and the other aftermarket. on both cables the center cable ( short) always pulls out of the adjuster thus lifting the slide well before the other 2. I can't see any reason why this is happening. The cable is in direct line with the carb so no bends etc. I'm stumped to figure why. When pushed all t the way down they all lift at the same time with plenty of throttle play at grip. Anyone else have an issue with this?

Do they have the rubber boots on them to hold the cables in?

Adjust the cable sheath at the carbs and the twist grip to give only about 2mm slack.
Be sure the cable routing is as smooth a radius and direct as possible from the twist grip to the carbs and does not get pulled at all with turning bars side to side.
Also don't forget to reset the oil pump after any cable adjustment.
BTW check the cable operated carb sync with the cables in their final resting place (tank reinstalled) as it seems any alternative movement/routing/bending of cable sheath will cause a drift in sync.

One more thing: Have a look in the 1-4 junction and verify each cable is attached to its proper groove of the cable puller (no twisted/crossed cables)
Lastly, have a look if the offending carb's slide is hanging up at all such as on a bent idle stop rod.

Wrap a little tape around the chrome end of the cable so it gets too snug to jump out. I prefer electrical tape - but Ned thinks it's for hacks.

Although, I must say, you did get kawonda going with your magic roll this year in Paris. Similar predicament too.

Thanks guys All seems well with the slides and yes LC it does have the rubber boots. My H1B even with the boot up the cable remains in place. Nothing seems outta place. It seems as if the 2 out cables are slightly too long forcing the unit back lifting it out of the adjuster. Solution..zip tie the main cable for now/
