I must say that there alot more chicks at their gathering than at ours. Hmmm. What do you think is the reason for that Dave?

In these days of kilomiters, most of those guys don't even know what the ton is. Brad They're favourite bike is a CB360... A ton is 100 Km/h now! Actually, that pic was taken in Alabama. The vast majority of those folks are Americans, so km/h doesn't apply to them. Hangin' out on DTT, they know exactly what the 'Ton" is... no worries there.

It's tough to be humble at the top of the food chain eh... I've seen some pretty cool rides on the ton site but I'm pretty particular about using an inline 4 if you are going diesel... My own personal preference. My brother had a 1982,Suzuki TS400LS That bike would break a ton easy but I still turned a killer deal down to buy it because I I couldn't live with the exhaust note even with the Jardine header.

Ya, it truly boils down to personal preference. I appreciate the snap, crackle and pop of a 2 stroke and the scream of a piped in-line 4 as well. The drone of a 4 stroke single or twin doesn't "do it" for me in quite the same way. That includes hi-performance v-twin sport bikes. I like 'em... just don't love 'em. The thing that actually encourages me, is that many of these young enthusiasts are having fun without the need to 'do the ton'! I think that's a good thing and I'm happy to encourage them.

Well said Drew. I like them all . well,.... except for Harleys. I would love to put a Harley engine in a featherbed frame though. Got to admit that I am very happy with the ZRX too. Lots of power from any rpm and goes like stink.
There is nothing like the smoky, loud , obnoxious Kawasaki triple. When I park it , it always draws a crowd. It is just so beautifully anti social.
Parallel twins especially nortons turn my crank. I had a 305 Super Hawk at 17 and never looked at the back end of an X6. I had 4 friends who had them.
Big singles are cool. Love the thumping sound.
I would do almost anything for a Vincent too. Bikes are fun, and cool and give me lots to do and think about.
Now, give me my 5th gear Walms.

Probably my only negative other than personal preference on the number of cylinders This may not include the nucleus of the Ton board but there is way too much form over function going on there... I've chimed in a few times when I've seen dangerous engineering and for the most part, I've been blown off essentially because it looks too way too awesome to be concerned about safety... This is when I lost interest with the place to a degree. I know I'm painting with a wide brush but so be it! Lol I love to discuss technical stuff and I've quickly found that there is no better place for me to do it than on our triple sites.

I think I understand what your sayin Walms. Many of the DTT bikes are works of art not high performance machines. Most have a certain vintage café look like the Mods & Rockers had. If you remember the 60's chopper-easy rider days, those things, had some serious engineering issues too but it was all about having that certain image and style. When you look at our group there's some image and style gonin on too. Some cool factor just in a different way and weighted a bit more to the performance side of bikes. Truth is, no mater what your into, everyone seems to enjoy it. Been down south twice with those guys and their a blast and as for getting your fill of high performance bikes the AHRMA group has some of the fasted vintage bikes. mechanics and racers there at the track.

No matter how cool looking and high performance a bike is, unless you trailer it everywhere and only start it to show off the sound, it has to go around corners and stop.
Otherwise, it is a useless exercise.

Here's a good reason to trailer: I'll never apologize for trailering!!
