October again this year. We'll be going again, this is a must attend event for anyone that has even a passing interest in motorcycles. The Museum is world class as is the Vintage Racing that goes on...
And it's affordable if you drive or fly.. email me and I'll pass along any details you want!

Missed last year but I plan to go again for October 2014. Just waiting to sort out some details so we can possibly include a ride at the GAP as it's only about four hours from Barber. Probably book some extra time off before or after Barber. The 10th Annual Barber Vintage FestivalBarber Motorsports Park. Birmingham, Alabama October 10th - 12th 2014. www.barbervintagefestival.org/

Whoooooohooo! Were booked. Seaglider and Drewski and I are booked along with some from the Do The Ton (DTT)guys from Toronto. If any of you can make it, were staying at the Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park Hotel 205 967 2700 Rick found some great rates on flights out of Buffalo with a low cost car rental. But if you guys want to see what it's like down there with your bike there: Here's a link to an early morning GoPro ride from the hotel to the top of the hill, track side at Ace Corner @ Barber Motorsport Park. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTdAVMZLMmI

Great news! We should get together for dinner Saturday night at Logans Roadhouse! We should try to find this place that we stopped at. It was great. Southern BBQ. The real thing. I was lost so I don't have a clue where it was.

I was lost so I don't have a clue where it was. That place is seriously famous: Miss Myra's Pit BBQ 3278 Cahaba Heights Rd, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243, United States

Ya Ian, we totally stumbled into that place. We were trying to find an alternate route to our hotel from the race track and just pulled into the parking lot to check our phone gps to see where we were. We needed to have a little snack because we were invited to a bbq that night, but it was going to be around 8:30pm before we would eat. We looked up and saw the sign and walked in to see if we should grab a bite. Jim chatted with the 2 ladies behind the counter and ordered a variety of things off the menu and we sat down. I went out to the parking lot to move the bikes because we didn't really park them properly when we stopped. I met a lady coming in and told her what we were doing there. She looked at me in disbelief!! She said we were at the best bbq place in all of Birmingham... bar none!! We all had a pretty good laugh over that one. Oh ya. It was really good!! BTW, you really need to join us down there in October!! It's an unbelievable experience!!

There are things to see in Birmingham too. We checked these out when we were there. Check out the historic Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham. slossfurnaces.com/Also the Civil Rights Institute is good. www.bcri.org/index.htmlAnd a ride to the Vulcan Park is neat to see the giant statue and the history of the area. visitvulcan.com/Raimo
