Tuning woes.
Well I lined the tank with Kreem. I have done this several times. This was the first time I managed to get the stuff ALL OVER the outside. Thats what happens when I try to multi task.
So I got the carbs clean. The floats are working good now. Put in a fresh set of plugs. Grabed the wires from my parts bike. Any suggestions for new wires?
At first the left cylinder would not fire. Had gas and good spark so took it for a burn round the block. And it lit up eventualy. Cold on two cylinders it idled and reved good no choke. Hot on three cylinders it bogged horibly till I hit 6000-9000RPM. It pulls good there. Won't idle.
The left oil feed line had this air bubble near the banjo for most of my fiddling today. I might post a question in the tuning thread about cleaning the oiling system. I was nervous about the oiling system so premixed my gas at 80-1 just in case. Figured a little bit of oil was better than no oil and not enough extra to cause a problem. Maybe I have too much oil now and therefore bogging? Its kinda like a diesel its bogging badly but still pulls strong.

Sounds like a clogged pilot. Pull one out and shine a flashlight through it in a dark room. If those are OK it might need a little air screw adjustment.

I removed all the pilots. Sprayed carb cleaner and compressed air through everything till I was satisfied. But looks like maybe I'll start all over again.
I'll probably go for one more loop around the block and then look at the plugs and see what they say. I have about one click on them so far. Two clicks is not very far for reading plugs maybe... It does seem like its too lean though. Theres on plug in the wiring harness that could use an acid bath. Its dirty. The one from the ignition switch I think. Ahh... lots of little things.

Oh another thing I'm wondering about. The brakes seem more of a vague suggestion rather than an attention getting command. I like the look of dual rotors. Probably complete overkill. But if I'm wandering through a junk yard what donor bikes am I looking for. Something with the same fork tube diameter would be nice. Am I dreaming?
