yeah I can't wait either Curtis, unfortunately other than the engine rebuild and pipe repairs already budgeted/paid for there's not much else I can do cosmetically that won't cost stupid money.... on a side note some sanding of the throttle tube and a piece of electrical tape on the bars resulted in a smooth action quick return throttle!

I have had very good luck with drilling the threads out, then using a longer bolt with loctite and a nut then you can really crank it down

your idea sounds good to me Curtis as she came abit loose just now, I tightened the bolt another 1/8th turn and she snapped off!! luckily I was able to file a slot in the bottom of the bolt and screw it out!!

Yep... Slightly englarge the clamping slot, drill threads out and use a grade 8 bolt and zing it down

How did the pipe repair go ? Any news on the pipe work. I'm interested in hearing your opinion on how it turned out. It looked like a tough job to do.

as an aside, I used about 6 singer sewing needles (not the cheap ones LOL!) and jammed them between the loosest splines then cranked down with an 8.8 same thread bolt... she's shifting and holding for the last couple rips!

as a FYI, sewing needles are only temporary! LOL!
had to file the bottom of the shift lever flat so the nut would sit flush, didn't want to start modding my lever but its' splines are f'd so what the hell!! got a loctited nut and bolt on her and she seems tight!
had a cracked clutch cover, ordered supposed good one off ebay... 1" crack, I installed it it does leak... at least it's at the top... seller is a good guy and gave a full refund!
now it seems my clutch is acting up, not disengaging, can't adjust it by the manual so off comes the cover again... later though!! gf and I are goin for a rip!!!!
