Thanks brother! I'm too stupid to take pictures, so I might have to ask you a few more things.
ian ;D
By the way, did all your wiring cover shatter? That was disappointing, they looked in perfect shape, but as soon as you bend them a touch - SNAP!

My fave year for the H2, followed closely by the 75' (I like purple). Just wish I could afford one, or maybe find some sweet old Granny with an "old motorbike" cluttering up the shed.. ;D ;D SoupD. By the way SoupD they are still out there.A few years ago I ran an add in my local pennysaver looking for Kaw triples and a guy called from about 20 miles away.I went out and looked. He had a complete running H2 with denco's and a nice set of stock pipes, but it had a trans problem, two parts H2's(one with motor)a whole crapload of H2 parts and an S3 parts bike.I ended up giving him $400. for the whole kit and kaboodle.Sold off about $1000.worth of stuff on Ebay to start funding my bike repairs.I've hardly got any money out of pocket to build this bike.Just a lot of wheelin and dealin on Ebay. You gotta keep at it and you'll get lucky. ;D

Anything you need, just yell. And yes, that plastic sheath is brittle as heck.I taped it up nice with real electrical tape,it looks fine.

Finally got her all put together yesterday.Gotta pick up some fuel and a couple feet of fuel hose and start kicking today. And by the way,I picked up this cool little item at a farm supply store. It's a vacuum tank for draining oil and fluids but it is great for bleeding brakes. You adapt it down with a piece of battery drain hose, put it on the bleeder screw, fill the reservoir and crack the bleeder screw.Pump the handle a few times and wait for the brake fluid to start flowing.top it off once or twice,Tighten the bleeder and you have killer brakes.Holds 3 quarts.I've gotta put my Z1 front brakes all back together today after replacing the rubber hoses and painting the calipers yesterday.Did I mention there is no chance of getting brake fluid on your freshly painted calipers if you use the tank setup?

Well she started after about 10 stabs.went to take her around the block and the clutch cable came out of the pusher.Fixed that, adjusted the idle and took a spin.Little ticky noise from the clutch cover I've gotta check but other than that she's a runner with that 14 tooth sprocket.Much peppier.Oh,and Lou,there's a lip on the edge of the lift so it traps the kickstand.

Great looking bike. Nice job on the resto and I like the Z1B in the background too.
Thanks for checking out the caliper bracket too. That was a big help.

Well, took her out for maiden voyage today for state inspection and shakedown cruise. The ticky noise was solved by RB.He was in the neighborhood picking up a few bikes and was going to stop by.On the phone I told him about the noise and that I saw a spot on the inside of the clutch cover where the clutch basket may have been making contact so I clearanced it with a dremel. Not the problem. Then I mentioned putting a head gasket on the right cylinder and torqueing it to 25FP.He said no,its 35.try that and call me back.damned if that wasn't it.I took it for a sticker up the road and the first thing I noticed was how fast it reached redline now.The 14 tooth sprocket changed the whole personality of the bike.It hoists the front wheel with no effort, first gear is over in very little time and seems like it's got gobs of low down torque. It'll take a little getting used to but I think it will be more fun to ride.I had it up around 80mph in 4th gear so I can't be losing too awful much top end speed. Not that I needed it anyway. When that speedo says 100mph I figure it's time to quit pressing my luck on this antique.I'm real happy so far.Tomorrow I'm going to tweak the timing and carb settings a bit, check for loose anything and get her ready for some thumpin.

That's great! Too bad RB doesn't come around my neighbourhood. Too many seedy folk here.
