Stock? ported piston port with small carbs and hard mounted engine VS Heavily ported rubber mounted engine equipped with big carbs (jetted to 99% correct) and intake check valves?? Sorta like comparing apples and oranges isn't it? J It's nice to have an apple once in a while, so you remember how much better the orange really is......LOL ^^^^ Poor Fellow. Obviously never having tasted a ripe Ontario McIntosh fresh off the tree!! J

Just got in from the ride... Despite the fricken rain, it was a good run. We rode through the forks of the credit, up through Erin, then Orangeville. We then rode out to Hockley, then towards Alliston... The rain got the best of us by then and we headed back towards the big O, via Mono on one of my favorite roads, 15th side road... About 170km all together. I took Dave's bike for a spin, It runs nice to 5k then starts to vibrate pretty strong. I didn't take it past 7 as it just seems to get worse... At this point, I think Dave is going to tear the motor down and swap to rubber mount cases... Before that though, I think he's going to check for run out on the rotor, maybe a good idea too is to check the rotor to crank surface contact at the same time... It would be nice to measure the runout before complaining to the crank builder. We can do this at my work one night Dave. Maybe we can weigh the pistons and the rod small ends while they are attached to the crank at the same time... I'd assume we'd know the problem by then, but I bet you guys might think there are other places to look. Dave is using clipon's which I've heard are not good for vibs, the lower front mount might be a bit light, maybe the clutch basket should be checked for runout/ balance too... Just so you get an idea, the bike vibrates worse then any H2 I've ridden to date... Sweet friggen bike though Dave! When you get this vibration problem licked, you be set!

Just got in from the ride... Despite the fricken On Mayfield, one of the brass fittings on the carb worked its way out and I pissed an 1/8 tank of gas all over the road Good ride though..

Was there any unusual noises coming from the bottom end? (I'm thinking of Rocket's experience with the failed main bearing with only a few KMs on the engine).

Another thing I have found to reduce vibrations is the engine mount bolts must be extremely tight. Are any of Dave's new welded on mount tabs broken?
My bike starts to vibrate more so from 5k and up.
