I thought I would post this here as I have had a few inquries from up north I would like to extend my services to you folks. I am currently rebuilding Kawasaki triple crankshafts just as Mr. Kirkland has done in the past. I consider him my mentor when it comes to this art. Most crankshafts can be rebuilt for $350.00. This includes top quality USA made labyrinth seals! I can do the stock rubber seals as well if you prefer. It is not my intention to take work from other crankshaft rebuilders on this forum; I am simply providing more options when it comes to this service. If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to call me or PM me and I will try to get back to you in a timely fashion. I am located in Jarrettsville, MD. I look forward to the inquiries. Charlie Smith (443) 752-1222 or triplecranks@aol.com. Thanks!

Welcome Charlie! Sounds like a good price to me too! However, the cross border return shipping/brokerage costs etc could work against you. Have you dealt with any Canadian customers? Any idea what the total shipping costs /procedures are? J

I sent my heads to Jamoo for $60 one way. Shipping must be done using USPS and Canada Post to keep it somewhat economical.

Yup, and try to use flat-rate boxes whenever possible. I've found that I can ship CDI units to Europe for 16.95 with the flat-rate "large video box". (thanks Motohorseman) It's even less to Canada.

Any idea what the total shipping costs /procedures are? J I sent an H2 crank to Calgary not too long ago and through UPS Standard it cost about $60. I think it took six days to get to its destination. That price included a "signature required".

Normally if you send something by to Canada from the US by UPS it seems cheap until the recipient has to pay a big "brokerage fee" before he can get his package.

I think they pick some exorbitant number out of their a@@ just to see if somebody will pay it. Any time I send something to Canada, I use the USPS. UPS and FEDEX are last resort and only if the buyer specifies it.

If I remember correctly UPS uses a set rate based on the price of the the product. (ie. 0-100$ =20$, 100-200$=40$) I used to have the actual numbers written down. Just don't use them its ridiculous.

Good to know. I have never had a Canadian customer make a special request for shipping services. I had one who asked that I put $50 as the declared value, so that makes sense.
