Apparently I have an issue with a float. Can anyone suggest a replacement source? I used Pinesol on my carb bodies and yes they are clean but I am not happy with their appearance. I tried Neverdull but they still look chalky.

Hey Dave -- I have some H1 floats. Well, I think they float... . Also have some lovely phosphoric for your carbs...But if you want an organic remedy, try boiling them nicely in a pot of rhubarb. Seriously.

Ian, is this the stuff you are talking about? I tried it tonight and it was worse than the Pinesol. But, no where does it say it is actually phosphoric acid.

I suspect Home Depot has changed the product to protect "us" from hurting ourselves. I'm told phosphoric is no longer available, but it was packaged under the part number 991 (I still have a bit left and it clearly states in the hazard warning phosphoric as one of the ingredients).
Try boiling you carbs in vinegar and maybe scrub with an old toothbrush.

"Aluminum screen door cleaner" was also phosphoric acid at one time. Might be worth a check at Home Hardware or Crappy tire.....

OK, this is a part I really need help with, it's the bracket that bolts to the frame and holds the top of the rubber strap that holds the oil tank in place. PN 32101-008 Plate,1.6T. Had it, can't find it, damn it Janet!

I had the same problem and what helped was fine emery cloth and wd40 or was it wd40 and steel wool it was hard to get in to the little crevises but the over all apearance was better then the blueie black look or the white crusties
pretty sure it was fine emery cloth and wd40
I read an Article in a chopper cafe racer Mag where the guy did that on the side covers and after he was done they had a beautifil fresh factory aluminum side case look.
so i figure if it works on side covers maybe with will work with carb bodies, give it a try you'll probably get the results you want. Karl
