Craigs bikes look better in person...the pics don't do them justice!!
It looks like I'm not working today
...so I'll post some pics of mine....all from the past..
Can't find any pics of the '71 triple in the stock frame, but way back when, I pulled the motor out and put it in a 'laydown' frame...
It had mild work to the motor, 34 mikunis, expansion chambers and went 12.20's.
I then picked up a lighter laydown frame...put the same set up in...got it to 11.70's..
Picked up a Denco 750 motor...modded the frame back end..and picked up a full 1 second +...got it to 10:60's..
You'll note by the first pic, this was a few years ago...
I still have that trailer!!
Firedude was my pit crew!!
A buddy in Mt. Clemons MI got a hold of a Fast by Gast stage three top end, and copied it...we put on 40 mil Lectrons, Gast sidewinder pipes, cut the tranny...and got 9:60's out of it!!
Here's an old shot of me and Deb...we were both much lighter!!
I still have that old van too. It's currently storage for all the old triple parts. It's in rough shape, just like us. (seems I can't get rid of anything!)
Broke the triple, so I campaigned my street bike, my '85 900 Eliminator..it went 11:40's.
It may shock you, but I blew that bike up too!!
I still have that bike....
Picked up a 600 Eliminator...stated racing it with no wheelie bar.
Just about flipped it a few times, so I put some struts and a wheelie bar on it...and a two step. Raced it for years and actually did quite well. Won a ton of races. That little bike would run 12:50's all day. At the Bracket Nationals in Norwalk OH I got 3rd racing 1/8 mile. This was against a dozen or so other tracks...good payout!!
I still have that bike too!!
Picked up an '86 1100 GSXR cheep...it went straight to the track. ( I know, another surprise). It went 9:70's. Had a lot of work done to it, head, big carbs ect..
I had 'laydown-itis'....so we put that motor in a frame I had built..
Still have that frame and all the parts...but then I got 'street-itus'.
Having a broken 600 and 900 on the front step...I bought an '88 750 GSXR with a broken motor.
Rode it one season with the 1100 race motor in it. A monster wheelie machine!!...but spookey. Deceided to stretch the swing arm and paint it..
I haven't blown this one up yet!! Just give me a bit more time!!
This is my current rider, so any bike meets this year be prepared for it. I'll run the muffler...or if anyone else has stinger pipes, I'll put the 'cannon' pipe on to compete!!
You may know the current project...ya...it's triple time again!!
The motor is in the more than capable hands of Craig and Racers Choice and the body work is with Roland and the VERY capable hands of 'Chromit'.
Another shock...Roland and pretty well everyone else, have talked me into painting is black...seems to be a patern with me anyway. I can hardly wait for the paint grafix designs!!
Sorry to bore you with all the pix...I have lots more..
I gotta find a new job!!
