Oh thats better was a confusing post to me anyway... Still there might be ways around the lack of a title issue Ive worked at dealerships where bikes were left for years the titled owners only option to get it back was pay the bill and a really big storage fee or loose the bike through a mechanics lien when bill and storage fee is unpaided it works too its been done many times..

You can also write a letter to the Minister of Transportation stating that you bought the bike legally ( hopefully you have a bill of sale ) and that you have tried to locate the owner and ownership without sucess. Have this letter notorized by a JP, and then take it to your local MTO office, you will have to fill out a pile of paperwork, and then they will issue you a new ownership in your name. Being an old bike this is a fairly common procedure for old bikes and cars, as these things sit in barns and garages for years get sold at garage sales and thrown away as junk, and many times the ownerships get lost, and the owners cannot be tracked down. Just go into your local MTO office expalin your situation and ask them for the exact procedure they want you to follow. Just dont tell them that you actually contacted the original owner. Stretch the truth a bit.

Stretch the truth a bit. I've gone through some of what you described above and couldn't do squat. If the bike VIN is in the MTO system and registered to someone else, you're SOL especially if the guy owns other vehicles that are currently registered and plate stickered, (he isn't dead) Mind you, I didn't do anything "improperly". The first thing I'd do is go to the MTO and see if the VIN is in the system, and determine who (if anyone) really does hold the title for the frame. You might be surprised that no-one does, then it's a simple matter of the notarized affadavit stating the VIN and your coming to own the bike.
