Right beside the hockey card on a clothespin... Funny you mention that... I saw a kid on my street that was doing that the other day. I got a good grin out of it because it was nice to see that some old school kicks have made it to a new generation! I bet that kid would have even played in a mud puddle!

looks like tonight will be a night of planning the mount forr the tank and maybe getting some spigots in. I think the bike will look real neat with no chrome at all, all orange and black. stay tuned for some pictures, after tonight you will all see how the bike will look.. Get ready to have ur minds blown

Have another beer and we will talk? Heres the pictures, lost all motivation after I positioned the tank and ran a zip tie to hold it on, took a few pics with the phone and thought "self, its almost 8pm, i am hungry, been working since 5:30am, and I dont really want to do too much more" So i pushed the bike back over to the corner, went and seen autofobe to drop off the TIT shirt and got a black headlight bucket (thanks Brad!) Upon arriving at home, I see a brown box with my name on it, sure enough, its my swing arm that Bake sent out to me (thanks Bake!) So tomorrow night, I guess I will just have to put my purse down, get the swing arm in and finish up the oil tank... The plan is to run no side covers, cut all the tabs off for them (the oil tank will actually sit back further, right in the corner of the frame, just tabs were in the way) and my electrics will sit up under the seat, and the battery will sit in the tail section. Colour scheme will be "B" orange (because its cool) with black frame, swinger, motor, headlight bucket, the only chrome on the bike will be the clip on's, the fins for the motor, headlight ring and the lower fork legs. Oh, and Ari, I happened to have rode that meanstreak like a CHAMP

I like the idea of no chrome too, nothing to polish on my bike. Just wash and abuse

Not really the reason for the no chrome, I just like the look of the black over the chrome. Mind you I wont lose any sleep not having chrome to polish

Lmao... I KNOW you rode that monster like a champ... I'll be the first one to admit I was white knuckling it at 50 - 60 mph on that loose gravel on the D... I shudder to think of doing it on something like that ;D

Heres the tank, welded the sides on, Ended up not using a sight glass like the early styles, it was going to look too goofy and i just opted to keep it plain. Welded a small plate on the bottom to drill and tap a hole to fit the brass spigot for the feed, and the top is a pipe plug Didnt get too much done after that, got my swing arm installed, going to have to shorten the frame about 2 inches to make it look proper...

As you can see here The tail section now sticks out like a sore thumb. So, if I cut a few inches down, use a rusted out S2 tank and modify it a bit to make it fit the frame, then I wont have to cut down a great seat pan, just have new foam and a re cover done up for it..

Looks good! What is the wheelbase on it? I think stock is 55". While you are at it, put a '72 S2 tail on it.

Haven't checked the wheel base yet, I dont want to use the S2 tail section, that would be copying someone else on here...

That Acewell unit works fine on my bike, you only need one turn round your HT lead for the rev counter also I ran the cable for the speedo to the back wheel and put the magnet on the sprocket (looks allot neater)
I used the basic unit as did not like the add on bits, indicator lights are LED's in the yokes same for high beam in the headlamp bucket and neutral in the hole in the chrome nut in the yoke
But am on my second unit as the first just stoped working hope this was some help

Just wash and abuse Colour scheme will be "B" orange (because its cool) some very fine biker traits coming out here being partial to Orange and as little chrome as possible I am dreaming of the day I can afford 2 new black anodized aluminum rims, stainless spokes and some good tires instead of those death trap KENDA's for the "B". One day...... nice built Curtis. I've been watching, going to be kool alright, and fast !
