After 7 years of nothing......Bike was parked and never ridden... Thought I would at least finish this Thread! I finally got the S3 (kh) framed 500cc out of the shed and started back on it for a track day at Cayuga. Great to see you at the track Paul. The bike looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing you bring it out next year. This threads not finished till she's finished. Hopefully with the full fairing too.

Hey Paul, Very nice looking bike . May be a bit off topic but I'm liking the looks of your track stand. I've scratched my head a few times trying to come up with a one-piece design that suits the stock swingarms with dual shocks. The one I made is a two piece job that supports the rearsets but it's a bit of a pain for one person to line the two sides up and get the bike on. Yours looks like a hack welder (such as myself) might be able to put it together without too much difficulty. Any chance of a picture of the upper, business ends to see how they support the swinger? Thanks. Cheers, Neil

Hook the stand forks on the axle and stand on the back leg.... bike sits right up. Pictures of stand on H2

jetting changes, did they work for you? Got only a few laps of the last session, Much much better but need more testing. Went to drain the tank and it took almost an hour as the entrance to fuel petcock was clogged with glass fibres.... so I may be starting at ground zero again......

I've made fiber glass tanks before and used liners inside. It solved the clogging problem but the liner started to seperate from the inside of the tank by the end of the season. Poor prep or the inside of the tank was not as clean as I had thought.

Poor prep or the inside of the tank was not as clean as I had thought. Just picked up some caswel tank sealer, will let the tank dry over the winter then seal it a couple of months before using it, I will try my best to prep and drain after use... Bit of a pain . Unless pipe welder builds me a tank!!

I was going to say Paul, it might be in my best interest to get some dimensions from you and work it up in Solidworks. Having the same frame as you would give me some options for my bike. We could make them quick and dirty by changing the radius end corners into chamfers. Just thinking out loud.

For best results with tank liners, the inside of the tank MUST be very clean and dry. Also the longer the liner is left with out fuel the better. For example, install the liner as per instructions and then let it sit and dry for a month or two before adding fuel. I've seen people install the liner and insist they let it dry for a week, even though they just purchased the liner on Friday and this is Monday for example, and their complaint is the liner seperated from the tank. If possible, the inside of the tank should be prepped as for painting. This will give the liner something to cling to, just like paint.

Good advice, Daffey. I think the Caswell Epoxy liner requires a lot less drying than that though. Some of the guys who have used it can comment, but since it's a 2-part liner, I think you can use it pretty soon after you put it in without hurting it.

It sets in 30 minutes (depending on temp) but it would be good to let set for 24 hours.
