Have you powder coated any gas tanks or side covers? If so how did the turn out or should I just take them into a body shop for automotive painting? Did a whole body set, twice! Base coat was a glossy black, followed up by a blue tinted metallic clear coat. AKA bass boat blue. If you find bondo when you're stripping the paint, forget it, take em to your favourite painter. I must've spent 100 hours trying to fill the dented surfaces with Lab metal (conductive high temp body repair) and it still didn't turn out very well. I went with the dark blue because it hid the surface imperfections better. Chainguard and swingarm powdercoated clear coat chrome in this pic. ![](http://users.vianet.ca/avr1/IMG_3072.jpg)

I don't see how machining sleeves, pressing and welding them in place is easer than pressing the Kawi stem into the Suzi bottom triple?? Personally I don't see how you could use the Kawasaki stem ....the H1 bottom tree is steel with the stem welded in, the GXSR Bottom tree is aluminum so welding is not an option is the first problem, next would be the splined steering shaft differences. Or maybe I'm missing something.

Nice work!! I did the same thing with the bearing races on mine aswell. It was fairly simple and one quick. I had to cut the old races off mine and press into the tube to make it work, but it's prtetty much the same thing. How do you plan on mounting the aluminum plate for the rat shock mount? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

We will see soon I hope.

No worries buddy, I'm backin ya up on the upside down forks. You may want to lift up the ass end of the bike, I ran into the same problem with mine. If you set it there, you need to remember that the bike is short of about 200-250 lbs of weight, and when you put it all together it may sag on you. Set it high, and compensate for your weight as well, this way when its all together and with you on it the ride hight will be perfect and the suspension will be in the middle of its travel. 1 - 1.5" higher than where you want it to sit when you are all done. Also remember that you will get a lot more wheel travel from that swingarm than the stock set up, so you need to take that into consideration, or it will be rubbin the inside of your freshly painted fender ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)
