Thanks! I remember those Tracy's from my high school days! In my 'minds eye' I can still 'see' them on CB750's, Kawi's and Suzook 2 strokes!! Your Dad is a lucky man to still have one! Did he have it on a bike back in the day? Make sure he hangs on to it, or passes it on to someone who appreciates it, like you!! Or me!! Ya, I got lucky getting this FZR! I've tried to find one off and on for the last year or so. I've been watching your project too! Keep it goin'! It'll be fun to roll into Paris together! ;D I've got a tracy body in really nice condition. I think I posted pics a while ago. It was on a Kawasaki triple before I got it but is doesn't fit on any of my triples. The tail is too narrow for my early and late H1 and the tank won't go over the coils either. It's definitely not H2. It will fit on my 72 S2 but not quite right around the rear. It still has a Georgia plate on it and a Kawasaki tail light. The guy I got it from bought it for his CB450 which it didn't quite fit either. Anybody have any thoughts? Could it be off a CB750/550 or a Suzuki Triple or GS750?? If it's tiny, I'd bet on the Suzuki Triple or the CB550! I found that the petcock and tank mount locations are the way to tell. The only way I could be sure though would be to lay it on the frame in question!! I also talked to a fellow at Paris who had one that had been made for a BSA/Triumph!! Yikes!! I love that unit you have there! ;D ;D

Moo! That's cool stuff! I still might do a 500 Project some where along the way, and that would be a VERY cooltank and tail! I'm gonna proceed with the Tracy on the H2, but you never know what I might need down the road! ;D I know the Tracy has a very limited range. I'm not worried about it at this point! I'm willing to give a little to get the style I want and to experience a 'blast from the past'! ;D

Thanks!
I don't like to "advertize' on the boards, but on this thread it looked like you might of been "stuck" a bit on what you were wanting to do.
The Tracy will be cool when you finish!

No worries! We like to see EVERYTHING out there, especially stuff our members have! Might as well keep it in the 'family'! ;D Thanks for your imput! It doesn't take much to get me stuck on these projects! There are so many ways to go! ;D

O'k gents! I've made some slow progress in the last week or so. Too buzy!! But what else is new?! Some very exciting info though, and I'm picking up some 'stuff' to help out with the project this weekend! One discovery we made is that the front end off the '86 FZR600 fits perfectly into the H2 triple clamps! Turns out, the tubes are the same diameter AND the centre to centre measurement of the fork tube holes in the triple clamps is exactly the SAME! AMAZING! Slide one set out, slide the other in! The easiest swap ever! I'll post some pics as soon as I can! ;D

It's been a busy Fall, but I finally got some work done on the H2 and remembered to take some pics!! The bottom triple needed some 'blasting'! I think it turned out pretty good! The upper needed some grinding. Now they're installed on the frame. Here's the whole front end. Here's the rear end mocked up for the welder/fabricator. Here it is as it sits on the shop floor today. So, there ya go. ;D WTF's will be on order soon! ;D

Figured something must be going between you 3intoweeners. ;D
Neat grinddown job on the handlebar protrusions, mine can interfere with the clipon a little. Never considered modifying it like that. Hmm.

Hmm. Ya! Lou's a great guy! I would say I owe him!! The grinding job actually went quite well! First a hack saw and then the angle grinder. About 20 min. for each side. A little light sanding with 800 grit, Tremclad gloss black and... voila!! They look pretty good for an amateur!
