Recently picked up parts of an old track bike and got to thinking... "Hmmm...I wonder if I could put this together and get it plated...." The bike is a 74 RD350 Motor is RD350 Bottom end with a TZ350 top end. Came with TZ pipes, TZ rad and a few other random bits. The plan.... - figure out water pump issue - VM34 Carbs (Polaris snowmobile parts) - rd400 front / rear calipers - R6 rearsets / foot controls - TZ Wheels - Airtech TZ replica body work. ...still debating if lights should be on a stand alone system or use stock RD electrics to keep it simple. When it's all said and done I basically want a street legal TZ. Completely impractical but completely awesome at the same time. Should also double as a great track day bike if I so choose.

Cool project! Is that an electric water pump? The water pump (tz350) is why i gave up on my rd350lc top end swap on the aircooled bottom end.

Both my water pumps run off the crank. That billet pump that you see in the picture was made by the previous owner. He was a machinist by trade.

A few small updates... motor goes out this week to a local TZ Enthusiast. He's going to help finish the waterpump conversion on the original wetclutch cover. After that I'll order all the body work and start cutting the frame to make it fit. Sourced a couple more original TZ parts. Found a tach and wheels. Unfortunately the wheels don't come with the rotors..but it's still a good score. I tell you this though... I will NEVER complain about the prices of triple parts again after starting this project.

Are the rotors hard to come by? Are they a special diameter?

Are the rotors hard to come by? Are they a special diameter? I'm finding everything hard to come by haha I was told that rd400 brakes bolt right up so that's what I plan on trying out 1st. ... Fingers crossed

If you come up with a diameter for the rotor and bolt spacing - I have a set of RD400 brake rotors here too.....

There are numerous models that share the same bolt pattern as far as rotors go. Rd350/400 xs/tx500/650/750.. Hell, fzr400/600/1000 will bolt up. I have dual fzr600 rotors bolted up to an xs650 hub with spacers on my rd350. What forks/triple tree do you have?
