Were are going to the show next Saturday. From what I heard the FREE bike is a Kawasaki Z400.Electronic ballet, drawing at 4:15. I don't think I am going to stick around for the draw. The cards are marked, the deck is stacked, the dice is loaded, game is rigged. How come WE never get to win anything !! ?? It says "anybody" can win !! I guess we are "nobody" and that is WHY we never win !! LOL Well the bikes at the show should be fun to look at any way.Kawasaki is actually giving away TWO bikes. The second one is a Z125.They won't let me win that one either !! LOL

Hello Acceleration I was asking Norm who painted his 1973 H2a purple and he referred me to you. By the way great work on the restoration. Here's my problem I have restored a 1973 H2a from the wheels up but I cannot find any purple H2a parts anywhere to color match. I saw the photo's of the purple paint that you used for Norm on his body set and it looks incredible just the right shade of purple. Would it be possible to give me the information on what kind paint that was used? It would be extremely helpful.

Sorry but I can't help you with the paint color etc.....The way we do the paint finishes on the body sets, duplicates how the factory did them.It is not a solid single stage color. It is a process of multi layers of white, pearl, and silver bases, and a color tint to match what ever candy color is bring applied. To arrive at the final candy color, be it purple, gold ,green, blue etc.... It is NOT premixed. It is done by actually applying multi colored bases and tints in varying amounts. Then the paint finish is buffed and polished after the paint finish cures. The single stage color code mixes only approximate the original color and do not have the candy pearl effect.

Thanks for your response and I do understand the procedure. I have a small paint shop and have painted the blue H2's the same way as you described but I had an original H2 gas tank that I could reference the shade of blue. I do realize that they came in all different shades of purple as scene on Rick Brett's site. What did you use fora a reference photo's?

Copy the original before stripping.

I wish it had the original paint on it. Instead it looked like it was painted with a brush with some funky green and orange colors. Like I said I have no reference point.
