A lot of you guys have seen this on facebook or whatever BUT for those who have not I thought I'd share this little project of mine. A couple months ago I had a gentleman call me up asking if I'd be interested in his late fathers bike. After hearing what it was and seeing some pictures we came to a deal so I made the 6 hour road trip to pick up this 1 owner all original KH400. The bike was purchased brand new by this gentleman's father (Ike') and was enjoyed by him and his family up till 1985 when the bike was last registered. Sadly Ike passed away earlier this year and his son who know nothing about these bikes was left with the bike and no idea of what to do with it. That's where I come in... After talking about the bike and what it meant to him I decided to leave it exactly how Ike had it and basically just clean it up and make it ride able. There was about 12 hours spent on cleaning / buffing, carbs were all gummed up and need a VERY THOROUGH cleaning along with any rust that was built up in the fuel tank / petcock. The master cylinder also needed a rebuild kit as it had leaked out over the years. So all in all there's probably close to about 30 hours into bringing the bike back and I must say the results are pretty amazing. This project really hit a cord in my heart so it was an honor to have had the chance to work on this bike and bring it back from the dead to be enjoyed once again. Part 1

Thanks guys!
The story is what sold me on the bike to begin with. A couple years back I did a similar "refurbish" of my Dad's RD350 so the story really struck a chord with me.
I was never a real fan of the KH's (based solely on the paint scheme) HOWEVER I think this bike just changed my mind on them. Parked along side my other bikes it just looks so beautiful.
