Hi Guys,
Not a huge project but I was blowing through my stock H2 clutch with HD springs pretty regularly so decided to get a lock-up clutch from Ralf. (Bike has Darren's porting, VM38's, etc.) I put it in over the winter and what with the crappy weather we've been having haven't have a chance to ride it until a few days ago. It's very well made, installation was a breeze and the clutch is fantastic. Extremely light pull and shifting has never been easier, including into neutral. I haven't had a chance to ride it a lot (and it's raining -again- today but I'm sure this is one of those mods you'll wish you had done sooner.

Thanks for the input frank!! Glad to hear your clutch blowing days are behind you.
Sounds like quite the Hot Rod you built... any pictures?

I don't have a whole lot of pics but will take some soon. As soon as it stops raining, lol. I've had the bike 25-ish years and have slowly been making changes over the years. It's nothing much to look at though.

Just like my bike, all the pretty stuff is on the inside! Ralf’s clutch isn’t cheap but I’ve heard nothing but excellent reviews.

Sounds cool. Are there more details on Ralf's clutch somewhere? I tried but couldn't find anything.

Hi. Jørgen from the SMALL white north here (Norway)
Just shoot the questions you like about the clutch here, and I will try to answer as good as I can.
I have this clutch on my modified H2, and also on my modified H1.
In my local triples community, we are about 10-15 guys running his clutches. 350, 500 and 750. Both stock(ish) and ported etc.
Cheers

Hi, Is there a website that has more information about Ralf's clutch and the pro's and con's of using it versus using the super high performance Barnett clutch? Also, will Ralf's clutch work with Ned's hydraulic clutch? What's the cost of Ralf's clutch? Thanks very much.

I don't have the answers too most of your questions - but Jorgen has this clutch and loves it. I imagine it is very expensive because there is a lot of engineering and manufacturing involved. I would be quite confident it can be used with the hydraulic actuator.
A Barnett clutch will not solve your problems..in my experience those fibres tend to "drag" a little bit. There is a less expensive "fix" that others on the board have done to cure a slipping clutch, which involves adding a plate and fibre - this require a slight modification to the hub and also employs H1 friction plates.. but it seems to work well.

Schipmann lock-up clutch/neds hyd releaser combo will give you an ridiculous light clutch pull. like a 50cc Honda :-D
And the clutch takes 120-130 Nm with ease, at 8000-ish rpm. Fantastic. No drag. You can shift to fifth and down again to neutral in standstill.
Clutch is about 6-700 euros as far as I remember, incl ball bearing pusher, friction plates, steel plates and custom springs.
