THANKS.I have not looked at it that closely.I would like to keep the existing front end.But looking into putting on a different front wheel maybe a different size for better roll out in the staging beams. And if possible something lighter weight.Knowing what the wheel is would help.

Neat bike.
It appears to be based on an H1B (at least the tank /oil tank and frame is).
Does it have 34 or 36mm carbs?
What sort of ETs/mph did this bike produce?
J

Yes you are right bike is based on a 1972 H1B format. It has 34 MM Mikuni carbs. It is currently set up for 1/8 mile and is running in the 6:80 ET at just under 100 MPH. Zero to 100 MPH in 6+ seconds, pretty quick for a 500? As previously mentioned it was run a Lancaster NY Drag Way.The previous owner had a big stack of trophies and gave me one of them with the bike.I am probably going to set up the bike for 1/4 mile eventually. And I am planning to build a H2 750 engine for the bike as well.I have most of the 750 parts lined up for the engine.I am looking for a decent LH H2 750 cylinder.Come on guys can you scare up a decent cylinder for me ? I know some one out there has one !!

J the oil tank is from an H1B but the gas tank is from an H1A. Looks like the tail and the rear hub are from a late model. The serial numbers will tell the tale. Brad

Looks very similar to a 400 bandit front wheel

Yes the front wheel sure does look like the Bandit wheel. Thanks for posting that. I am trying to figure out what I can put in the front in the way of a spoked front light weight aluminum wheel. To give it a more period correct look, and match the rear wheel. Not sure what will fit ? If anything will fit the existing forks ?

..maybe look at supermoto wheels. Smaller diameter and have a similar aluminum look...

Yes if i could find a light aluminum spoke front rim for the front to fit the existing forks that is similar to the rear that would be great !!

You might search early 80's motocross bikes - some of them had nice aluminum wheels...and cheap
