That's 1 way to do it!
Looks a lot easier than holding it in 1 hand while juggling a power drill in the other and somehow get everything to work while it's shaking violently in your hands haha

I've worked myself into a corner. Carb adapters are built and matched to Cylinders but Mikuni TM or VM style carbs interfere with the transmission case and neutral safety switch. Anybody know a source of Mikuni VM 28 or 30 small body spigot carbs? They have been discontinued.

Are those carb adapters the German ones that have a slight angle ? I had a similar issue mounting H2 carbs on my KH 400 different adapters cured the problem ....

Copy of the Denco style. Which ones did you use and how much of an angle do they have? I could possibly mod mine a bit. Do you have a picture or a Web link?
THANKS Don

My adapters came from Oxford on the other board,,, they are a Denco copy as well but his earlier one were a bit better as he tapered the intake track on the adapter.. I dont have a hosting site to post pictures here anymore but sounds like it wouldn't help anyway ..

The right hand carb does fit but touches on the case. At some point the bike will have to come apart for paint and finishing. At that time I'll try making another set of adapters with a slight angle. I don't think it would take much.

My 38's are tight, I have to run with no neutral light and had to grind down the float bowl drain plug. Great looking build!

YES Carbs are very close to fitting. Maybe a slight massage with grinder on right side would do it.

Slow progress but some more work done. I reported in an earlier post that with the carb mounts I made the carbs would hit on the engine case and the neutral light switch. So I made a different style. The carbs now just, just , just clear the cases. I'll still have to do without a neutral indicator.
Old on the bottom and new on top
Old on the bottom, new on top. The new ones move the carbs up about 5mm and back about 9mm.
I'm hoping the larger port volume doesn't screw up throttle response.
I also made a new battery box and provision to mount rectifier and voltage regulator as well as ignition coils.
Here's hoping it all works so I can get on with getting the motor running.
