Recently completed a winter project on a resto mod H1 500 for a friend. And did a top end rebuild, rebore, pistons and some Denco spec port work, rebuilt rejet carbs and adj timing. The bike has the extra internal baffle Wirges pipes. That we cut chop weld and rebuilt and removed the Xtra baffle.Man that internal baffle is highly restrictive !! No wonder they say they they are low output. You can stand in the back of the bike now and feel the exhaust pulses standing 4 feet away. And it sure gives it new life and new sound !! I would post a couple of pictures but not good at doing that. And don't have the time to go through the process, Sorry. I did take some photos. Also fired up my driver H1 500 today.Came to life after several kicks. Now to clean and detail it.And then go back to work on my RD350LC. I hope we get some good weather soon for riding ? Tonight is another heavy rain fall warning !!

Thanks for the interest. Bike is a 73 H1D. It looks pretty cool.Resto mod.Removing the extra internal baffles and shortening the center section on the Wirges pipes made a big difference. Not only in sound and power, but a lot of weight came off the pipes too. I am out in a rural area and internet service is not great .I could e-mail some pictures if some one would be willing to help with it ? Maybe it will cheer us all up ? This current weather is not very bike user friendly !!

It would have been fun to have a before and after video of the sound of the pipes. Anyone using these pipes with the extra internal baffle be aware of the huge restriction the and power loss with them. The sound before and after is like night and day. Power too. But in some respects you can understand how Wirges might have decided to use the extra internal baffle. The sound levels are much greater no .And might be objectionable to some ? The earlier design of these pipes did not have the internal baffles. Of course we ALL like the sound !! Now it sounds the way it is supposed to ? Snap, Crackle, Pop !! LOL

Put some denco race or a set of wtf's on her, then you'd feel the power.... Awesome bike, ride it like you stole it.

Beautiful bike there Acceleration! I always love a nice resto-mod! Walms is right about the fairing too..looks really good. I'm usually not a fan but you were able to tie it all in really nice with the tail and front fender. Also like the moon eyes in the "500" and the "FF". "Fast as F*#K"?? Well done!

The faring and the fender and tail piece are available as a kit. Let's see if anyone can guess what the "F F" stands for ? It is actually a very familiar logo. I will give a hint. It has something to do with Rock Music. Anyone recognize it ? We joke and call it French Fries ( like the bike is cooking some when it is running ) LOL. Anyone recognize the "F F" LOGO ?
