So, I've gone to all LED lamps (except headlight) on my bike. I got everything from SuperbrightLEDs, including the electronic flasher and the recommended diode kit for bikes with a single bulb turn signal indicator. Just getting it all back together and now that I have all the signals connected an odd thing is occurring: as soon as I turn on the ignition the brake light indicator bulb in the tach begins flashing ( ). When either brake is applied that same indicator bulb comes on solid, as it's meant to do. Release the brake and it begins flashing. All signals work as they should. I can't seem to locate a (late) H2 wiring diagram that shows that indicator bulb so I'm not sure how it's wired w.r.t. the rest of the lighting system. Both Glenn's and my factory manual have only a single H2 wiring diagram and it ain't for the late H2 (no brake light indicator shown). Has anyone run into this before? Anybody got a late H2 wiring diagram? Any guesses? Thx, N.

Don't know if this helps or not.......but when I was working on the h2b wiring, I used the h1e wiring diagram to figure out the brake light outage indicator. Also, this looks to be the internal wiring. kawtriple.com/mraxl/tips/lampwarn.pdf

Thanks for that. I wasn't sure if that lamp was on any of the smaller triples. I'll check the H1E schematic when I get home. Cheers, N.

Hi, I`ll assume you`re talking brake light failure bulb, and you have original harness. Up front one side connects to the grn/wh line the other is through the 4pin connector, brn wire. This is from the h2b Europe and north American models, also the same as mentioned, h1e. Hope this helps.

Here are wiring diagrams: 3cyl.com/mraxl/wiring/diagrams.htmThe outage indicator senses whether or not the filament in the brake light bulb is open. Since there is no filament in an LED bulb it will always show a blinking light. Just unplug the outage indicator module and your good to go.

Yeah, that's the one Perry. Didn't know the technical name for it not having the schematic. I referred to it as the brake light indicator because it comes on with the brake light. I've never seen it flashing to indicate a failed bulb (until now).
Thanks for the explanation I was looking for Dale. If it wasn't easily sorted out I was just going to remove the bulb, effectively the same thing I guess.
Thanks. N.
