Well, Debbie says that I have finally lost it entirely. Thanks Mitch, .. I think. Looking at ending up with a stock H1A. But, who knows what will happen. oh yeah, there is an engine and tanks and pipes to go with it. .

first things first. As usual the kick start shaft needs replacing. Crank and tranny seems in remarkably good shape.Standard bores and seem to be within spec too. i'll have that checked with a good very near caliper instead of my old manual eye one. The kicker shaft I got with the engine was not correct so ordered one from ebay. Now I've got some cleaning to do.

Don't go blaming your wife's opinion on your mental state on me as far as that start shaft goes that was with a box of parts from the 500 from Curtis he may know what it's from.. looks good inside that cases. I never split them

Yeah, the shop's a mess but this thing is ready for cleaning, blasting and paint. If it ever warms up that is. 3 out of 4 bolts and screws were seized tight. I had to resort to the hammer screwdriver technique a few times.

My buddy Andrew Jones (Alien Tech Racing) was just in my home shop today as we were discussing engine specs for my TT build and your shop it cleaner than mine at the moment...

Oh boy do I sympathise with you, I am doing something similar with an H2a. I got loads of new parts but there seems to be no end to what you need to make it complete. I made the mistake of trying to rush my rebuild so I got all the parts as soon as I could and now have bits of H2 all over the house, hope I can find them all when I need them . Everything in life is getting in the way at the moment and everything is now being done in the wrong order, got the paintwork back but havent even sent the chrome and zinc work to be done so I now cant fit anything together. Advice: Do it in the right order and save yourself some heartache. I am spending far too much time worrying about not scratching my freshly painted tins.

Some progress. I took the lazy way out and sand blasted and painted it. Replacement cylinder arrived from Jess yesterday. The only standard bore he had has the exhaust studs , one broken out and the other stripped. The machine shop guy will send it out to his bud's for welding and then he will have to tap the holes. The job will cost him and with the expence of buying and shipping this cylinder the cash will wash. he showed me the off centre bore. What a mess. He did the panic stop on the machine but bored down a good 3 mm. What a shame for a standard bore decent jug.

What a shame for a standard bore decent jug. Just think of the 100's of H2 cylinders destroyed by drag racers......
