190 ex, is what I'm shooting for...you need the width as well? I believe 43mm would be the width That should be good for a test, pipe changes are fairly relative. That's awesome you would do that for me....thanks man

The motor is a bit hotter than what you asked for but here is the comparison... Multiply the HP by 2.4 to get an approximate (optimistic) rwhp My bet is it would be worth it, even if you give up a bit of mid range, you get more bottom end. The stock Wirges looks pretty goofie up top too. I'll chop the belly to 50mm to see if it will rev out to 10

Peaking at an honest 9,000 isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Agreed Jim, I wouldn't go shorter than a 5" belly.

I have a whole bunch of sets of H1 500 and H2 750 expansion chambers in storage, most all of them are DENCOS. I do have several sets of Wirges chambers for a 500.One of them is slienced. The other two sets are Stinger sets. One of the stinger sets are very old and made for 69 H1 looks very different from the later stinger set.I never measured the belly on the silenced Wirges set.I am pretty sure the silenced are the ones that have the internal baffles because I could see the spot welds for them.I will have to measure the belly.Would be interesting to know what effect shortening the belly has on the 500 pipes before cutting ? A long time ago I had a 500 that I put JR chambers on and they worked better than the Wirges and I was totally surprised how well the JR pipes worked.Thinking that they were junk.No experience with JR 750 chambers.Anyone else ever use the JR chambers ? I don't have any now and wouldn't buy a set.I don't need any.But just mentioning them in passing because when I tried a set years ago they seemed to work half decently by comparison.I plan to cut open and remove the baffles from the Wirges pipes I have.Would be good to know how much of an effect the cutting of the belly has an the 500 pipes too ?

The graphs shown are for a 500 with Wirges (1 cylinder)

As I said above, I believe that Wirges 500 and Wirges 750 chambers are the same, except for the hangers. That means the graphs Walms posted above apply. His half length belly curve means 5" belly, as I understand it. My old type H2 Wirges pipes have 6-1/2" belly sections and no internal baffles, so if you have those, don't just cut the belly down to half of that.

THANKS.I should have looked at the graphs more closely.I assumed it was for a 750.And yes it seems the 500/750 Wirges are pretty much the same.So with all having been said and discussed here so far,to reconfirm. What would be the suggested ideal length of the belly on a 500 Wirges pipe ? Especially when removing the internal baffle?

I know it's all just on paper, but that's very impressive...worth a shot. Could the silencer act like a stinger? Should they be a certain length and have a certain inner diameter?
