Frame back from powder-coater. Tapered steering head bearings installed, now time to clean all the sand from the swing arm guts! LOL. 40 year old engine mounts cleaned up, good enough for government work.

Battery tray installed after making 4 new rubber grommets from a chunk of rubber. Lakeland module installed just because it looks better or more industrial. Blue open end ground lug still needs replacement. From this: To this: My brother cleaned this up nicely.

Dry run for the exhaust, the pipes fit easily- especially for 700 skins to the door. The rear mounts are solid so I may do something there. The front is soft mounted. Got a back-up set of "Factory" pipes due for the powder coater's ceramic treatment.

Do not solid mount the pipes.... Rubber mount with a little wiggle room

Do not solid mount the pipes.... Rubber mount with a little wiggle room That's what I thought but the inside pipe is so close to the lower shock bolt a rubber grommet and bushing would cause interference. The only way I can see doing it is using a rubber tube with a smaller bolt in the foot peg frame mount, maybe bend the bracket or cut the bracket short then make a damped adapter. I would expect they tested the thing with the supplied rigid fixed brackets? rt

Oil pump bled, now waiting for seat, tach cable, carb airbox boot clamps, brake bleed and warm weather. Next year fresh purple paint.

Looks fantastic! If that's original paint, it looks pretty good!

Paint is not original unfortunately and looks better than it is. It is good enough for now though. Thanks for the kind remarks.
