This is a bit premature but I wanted to show you boys my H1A bodyset just back from the painter. I've got all kinds of nice pieces to put a stock H1A together but don't expect to be getting to it any time soon - too many other irons in various fires at the moment. So, these pieces will just sit safely on a shelf in my basement until the time comes... This is the donor bike the bodyset came off. This bike was much rougher than it looks so I disassembled it and sold off the stuck motor and frame. Still have many of the parts but won't be using many of them on this project once I get going on it. The tank had seen better days (this is its good side) but was nice and clean inside. Oil tank also needed some freshening up. Not to mention a serious interior cleaning - who knew two-stroke oil left on its own for decades turns to slime? The sidecover, compliments of papagriff and handed off to Drewski (thanks again, guys), was in the best condition of all the pieces. I recently got a line on a new painter and I've had an almost complete set of NOS decals (got the sidecover decal from RB) hanging around for the last 30 years or so... ...and so I figured I'd best get step one done on this resto. My first view of them at the painters: And then at home with a NOS oil tank, sans decal, that the painter used as a guide. Just today I got the paint cleaned off the filler neck and sealed with SealAll. Mission accomplished - I'm a happy camper Cheers, N.

Thanks, guys.
I'm holding off on getting going on this one - currently working on mounting rearsets on my H2 and I'm ready to get the motor on my H1A special buttoned back up and reinstalled.
You know, all the stuff that I should have done during the winter...
