The hub is good based on the fact that I have 3 identical ones. My experience with Sytec is that there is less movement at the handle which does make them tricky to adjust. But observing the clutch action with the cover removed ...it looks peachy. I also mic'd the washers and bushings etc. - all the same. The only component I don't have duplicates of is the cross-shaped thrust washer under the bushing...it looks to be in great shape.

I should mention that I'm also running Motul oil and I'm not completely out of woods with the clutch slippage issue on my bike. It slipped again in 4th the other night. Still good play at the purch as well. That Honda oil might just give you that extra 5% more grip that you need? I'm thinking now to do the same.

Ok, I just spoke with Roland, you can't borrow my clutch, it's in his bike! Lmao Anyway, the reason it's in there is the stock fibres, his Barnetts were slipping as well. The stockers still slip a bit but much better grab than the Barnett's.

Zed fails to mention that the Motul oil he is using has been used in many bikes. He just keeps recycling it!

After battling this stupid clutch for going on 2 years, I decided the next time I took it apart would be my last attempt. So today after erasing a pile of things from my "honey do" list I cracked it open again. I had convinced myself over the last month or so that the problem was definitely with the wimpy springs. Since my clutch release cracked and I had to install a Sytec, I was amazed at how light the pull was..seriously, very very light pull. I had tried NOS springs - no joy and RB had given me a set of +10% aftermarket springs which also slipped. I had bought Barnett's 2 years ago, but since they are both taller and fatter, when I installed them they ballooned under compression and hung up on the "walls" of the pressure plate sockets. Walms kindly "donated" his Barnetts which looked different than mine, but measured the same (1mm fatter and 2mm taller than stock) So I hatched a plan to "hog out" the pressure plate sockets to accept the stronger springs. I did this, sitting on my deck with a Dremel - starting with sanding drums and then polishing discs.. Slowly but surely the clearance grew until the springs dropped right in Well - it was a pain in the rump, but once they all dropped in smoothly, I went ahead and installed them - along with band new fluid. The lever pull is about double what it was - manly, but certainly manageable. Went for a ride and...zero...zero slip!! I tried really hard but this set up will not slip!! What a difference to ride a triple like your supposed to! It is so disappointing to hi the power band and have to roll the throttle back to avoid over revving. Well now it's just the opposite - when it comes on the pipe and starts hauling...give her some more. I love it!!

Glad to see you got it . I knew you would. it's a good thing that you eat all that porridge to help you with the extra pull on this clutch.

Oh - where are my manners? Thanks to everyone who helped, suggested things and made me not give up. I swear this ad me wanting to ditch the bike and be done with it.

It hauls...these 400s are nice motors, no flat spots or dead zones - just keep revving.
