In speaking to Denis Curtis at CMR Racing Products today he mentioned that Dave crashed at NJ Motor Speedway and has a damaged hip.
He will be canceling all his racing plans for this season including the Isle of Man that was all lined up and ready to go.
That's got to be a tough break for a guy that makes so much effort to run the vintage circuit year after year. I was hoping he would be at Mosport this August for the VRRA but that's not going to happen now.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Dave. Jim

Jim Report on the US board was a broken femur and a "no weight on it" restriction for at least 8 weeks! I don't know Dave, but he seems to be highly regarded and respected by all. A broken femur is no small thing and will take at least a year before it fells "normal" again.

Actually the "damage" was updated to just a cracked pelvis, which is plated now.......

Sucks to hear, I bet it's painful but his only comment on the other board was his disappointment with missing IOM... I'm sure he'll be in top form next year though!

I spoke to Dave at Barber and he's doing well. He's back on the bike and racing again. Seems to be in full form and at the front of the pack again. From what I see he took 1st in Open GP on the TZ We watched from ACE Corner and saw him take 1st in the Superbike class (Vintage Superbike Heavyweight) Results show also a 2nd in "Formula Vintage " also with his big Kawi1000 and 3rd in Formula 250 with the Big Horn. No H2r with him this time. www.ahrma.org/ahrma_pdfs/Z-2014/Nationals/Road_Race/Results/Barber%20Sat%20RR%20results.htm

I don't think Dave will be coming up to Mosport as the VRRA dates clash with the Isle of Man Clasic TT event. Maybe we should take off to the Isle of Mann. Looks like a nice two week event there. www.iomtt.com/Classic-TT.aspx

When did you win the lotto Jim? Loto? You just book a hotel and get a plane ticket. Big deal.... I know people who spend more on their summer vacation to a cottage or cruise ships or trips to Florida in the winter. I've never been south of Barber. LOL

More news on Dave's racing adventures. Dave and his wife both raced in January at the 2015 "Phillip Island Classic" just outside Melbourne Australia.
This is Australia's largest historic motorcycle race and the third largest motorcycling event on the Australian calendar behind the MotoGP and World Superbike events.
I give credit to Dave for making such a huge effort participating in vintage racing all over the world. All though he is currently running a Yamaha TZ750, his wife Lorraine still runs her 350 Kawi twin and Dave is still well known to be the one of the worlds top collectors of the early Kawasaki two stroke racing bikes.
Dave emailed a link to this great video of the Philip Island Classic. Well worth watching. Dave and his wife are both in the video along with many well known world class racers.
Enjoy:

Great movie. Hope to get down to Philip Island one day and see a motorcycle race. VRRA was trying to get a Canadian team together a couple years ago. Not sure what happened to that.

Maybe we make that some kind of long term plan....to make it to New Zealand and Australia with some of our vintage bikes....some for the street and maybe even track! Now that would be fun while Canada is suffering through winter
