Hard to blame a guy for making a buck but who on this board would even pay 1/2 that money???
It would seem the majority of us enjoy working on our bikes as much as riding them, it just seems crazy to me that a fella would layout that kind of cash for an old lump even if it were in great shape. It would seem that the type of guy would have scads of cash and no intention to do anything but get the bike serviced at the dealership... I guess it seems odd to me that that same person would even care to ride an old unrefined triple...
Investment wise, I think waterfront would be a better choice.

I saw that yesterday on Kijiji and i was going to post it but as soon as they dont mension a price then they always want too much, but the whole "taking offers" thing just annoys me. I cant see anyone paying that much for that bike, as Andrew said, we all enjoy working on our bikes.

I'm sure the guy has that much in the bike -- it's pretty easy. I learned a long time ago that what you invest is not what you will get back. The problem with that restoration is that it isn't a proper "show" restoration, it isn't a "special" and the "rider with period mods" crowd (like me) either want to do the work themselves or they want to pay about half that price for a solid, nice running H2. It would cost $3,000 to get that bike into show shape: redo the paint to proper specs $1,000 and buy re-pop pipes $2,000 plus airbox and grab rail. So after that you would have over $15,000 in the bike - too much for a B.
I think the bike is fantastic, absolutely gorgeous...but it just won't bring that much dough. On eBay, he might see $7,500.

your about right Ian..$7,500 is a fair price. Now having said that because mine is brown and on YouTube, it must be worth $15.000 then ;D
