He's been listing that bike for the past couple of years. The price seems high at a glance, but with a Gast motor and all that, he's probably not far off. I like it!

to spend 8500 building a "new bike" is smarter than spending 8500 on a "used bike", good luck on that sale.

Yup, I'd expect to pay pennies on the dollar for FBG work unless I was buying directly from FBG
In fact, would you buy a rebuilt crank from an unknown rebuilder? Not me, I'd rather start with a known piece of crap and send it to Tnut

Yah I have seen this add on and off for quite a while.Wouldn't pay that kind of cash for it but its still a nice looking piece of equipment. I sure wouldn't be allergic to takin it for a rip.

Paul Gast would probably know every detail of that bike (motor); that's the kind of guy he is. It has Gast pipes, Gast Lectrons etc., so I am certain it's legit. The thing that bugs me (and I love this bike...) is the fact that the decals are messed up. The side panel decals are on the wrong side and the angle of the tank and tail waterfalls are bad. What a shame because it looks so nice otherwise.

I also just wanted to say I wasn't implying the seller was claiming anything that wasn't true... I'd just prefer to have the FBG work done myself. Hard to say how the motor was treated after the build.
If I remember correctly, a FBG motor can run you 4k so I'd say it would be a good deal at 8.5k if the motor was fresh and everything else was pristine other then the stickers.

Yeah, good point Andrew.

Slightly off topic, is Purple Haze motors still around? I thought they were the motor to have?

I'm not sure but I think the chap's name was Ron and he passed away... I'm not 100% sure though.
