I see a roll of black electrical tape in your future. If it's good enough for Delphi, it'll probably be ok for the H1. ;D Might get the BikerDon seal of approval too.

Yeh, Lou. I'll try it! I was thinking of shrinking it in hot water, which apparently keeps it more flexible.

send me a mailing address and i will send you a bit of it. you use a hot air gun (paint stripper) and it will shrink down to about .75 dia.

Zambia, I recovered an entire H1B harness using shrink tube. I didn't remove any connectors to do it but it wasn't easy. Had to use a little vasoline at times. I was happy with it but shrink tube will not have the gloss of the OE wrap. Shrink tube comes in various sizes in cut lengths. I bought mine at an electronic supply store. Examine your harness and determine the diameter of tubing required by the size of the largest connector of the leg to be covered. Shrink tube has a max % shrinkability... don't remember what it is but you need to use the smallest size you can. Another option is to get a pin pusher and push the pins out of the connectors then reinsert. My experience with those is not the best.

Zambia, I recovered an entire H1B harness using shrink tube. good idea eh, me and Mr.Axl are kinda like "Ron Jeremy" in a way. We're "F___ing Genius's" ;D Z. love the hot water idea, pour it right out while the kettle is boiling, won't dry out the shrink tube.... your a XXX star too ;D

yano I never took my wires apart on the h2,however I have a gadget that slides over the pins on most plugs and releases them, (index it first). but before I had the gizmo i would use the thin tubing from my toy airplane stash to slide over the pins and free em up.however and so on I did not do it to the kawasaki

I'm working on a '75 H-2 and have heard both that the harnesses offered by restoration sites will fit and also that they won't. There is no harness offered for the '75 so I am tempted to try to use one from the earlier models. Anyone have experience with this?

I don't have hands-on experience with this, but the '74-'75 harness has definite differences from the '72-'73. The repro harnesses are $250 so it would be a shame to buy one and have to cut it up (which you will have to do to accommodate such items as the kill switch. If you have a harness from the '75 your best bet is to restore it with new connectors etc. It's a bit tedious, but not that hard to do.
