I've removed side badges from KH500, the nuts are large, easy to get hold of. The S3 is another story. It don't have nuts, push on round spring clips, real small. They are going to be a Btard to get off. Any suggestions, we've got the S3 chassis finished now. I'd post a pic but "the boy" keeps forgeting to email me pictures. We are ready to start body and paint, then engine needs a freshening up. At this pace I doubt I'll have my B ready for spring but maybe.

Good question Don...and not to hijack your thread..but how does one repair those busted-off tabs? I've tried various glues...but it ain't working.

I have the same problem with a "500" emblem on a side panel I want to paint. I can't even get a razor blade under the nut to lift it. My next plan is to try use an awl to get in a tiny opening in the nut at the post. I'm going to try save the nuts, but if they go down for the count, I'll be using 100 MPH doublesided tape to put the emblems back on (3M automotive grade). Part of this is due to the fact that one of my emblems hardly has any post left for anything to grab on to. The tape is the stuff used to hold the exterior trim pieces on your car. I'll try fool around with it tonight and we'll see what happens.

Got 'em off. I thinned the push nut in one place with a cut off wheel and was able to pry the nut off in one piece using my knife. ;D

Hey Ian.. to repair s-3 tabs you need to weld them with abs plastic. I use and old cover for material ,clean off the paint ,cut into strips and fuse it into the damaged area.

I sent an email to our British friends on how they hold the badges on because they sell them and got this answer: double sided automotive tape Simon Lister www.kawasakitripleparts.com/ ...Dan

I also heard that the repro badges break easily if you try to bend them to the contour of the side panel. Not so much a problem with original metal emblems, FWIW.

Got em off, these were not nut's rather a push-on-one-way washer. I took a steak knife and kinda cut my way under the edge, then I bent the washer edge up enough to get hold with plyers and pull off. It kind of mangled the washer but I will tape the badge with "the tape"
