ok, wtf!!
I had screwed around with the brakes and everything was going fine and t hen it starts puking fuel out of the bottom end again!
I had just had all the carbs off and checked all the float heights and the needle valves, everything is factory setting!!
Starting to get irritated...
On the plus side,
I got the front caliper fixed and bled and the rear brakes adjusted so it will stop.. safely ha-ha
Heading into town in the next 20 minutes to see what I can stir up at the parents garage for headlights that are functional..

Something is causing the overflow. Do the floats move the full range of motion without hitting the sides of the float bowls? If there's contact, they can get stuck. Have you checked the overflow tubes in the bowls to make sure they aren't leaking? H2 carb tubes have been known to split, causing perpetual leak. Some have used heat shrink tubing to fix said problem.

If the tank hasn't been "de-rusted" that could be your problem, as the fine rust dust will go through just about any filter.

Pulled the carbs off again, checked all the tubes, seem to be good.
Took a peek inside the tank and it looks ok.. But its hard to see in that tiny hole, so i pulled the petcock off and there is some rust in it..
Tank is off to get steam cleaned and re sealed monday morning...

Looked into front end options + wheel options.
Heres the possible list:
RZ500 triples + forks + wheels KZ 750 forks +wheels GPZ 550 triples + forks + wheels
Leaning more towards the RZ 500 combo... not 100% sure yet, any suggestions?
I will be removing my swinger and modifying it to my standards. Still using a dual shock setup, not going to use the mono shock

I think the RZ500 front wheel is a 16".. Unless you already have it, I would stay away from RZ500 stuff.

I do not have it yet...
I was positive when i looked at it today it was a 17inch... But I might have been wrong.
Something bad with 16inch?

I am fairly sure stock RZ500's have 16" front and 18" rears. I guess the only problem would be limited tire selection, and possible handling issues. The forks also have that 80's anti-dive technology that I would pass on. Also the top tree doesn't have risers, so your drag bars won't bolt up anymore.

This must not be a 500 front end then because the triples have risers on them.

Ya, I'm a little nervous about the 16" 18" combo on my Mongrel!! "Mouth" uses that same set up on his H1/750 (off the Gpz900) and loves it.... Who knows?! We'll see how the Mongrel works soon (I hope!)!

If I had a choice, I'd stick with an 18" X 18" or 17" X 17" set up. I have the 17" wheels on my KZ! It rides and handles beautifully!! If you have the opportunity to snag the complete front end, do it! It's a LOT easier to swap triples, forks, brakes and wheels together, IMO. With the rear, remember you will be restricted on wheel/tire width. You can run into chain clearance issues if you go too wide. Having said that, anything can be made to work. It's just MORE work and possibly MORE money! Don't ask how I know! Happy hunting!

If you are looking to improve handling, remember 16 or 17" tires will drop the front a 1" to 1.5", same with the rear, you will be losing valuable ground clearance.
