I remember the Brimaco Series well.The Eastveld Bros wanted to promote a road race series as a business venture.The CMA would not support them and would not provide them with a sanction or sell them race day insurance. They went there own way and found a sponsor Bri-ma-co)(British Manufacting co, a leather clothing maker in Montreal that wanted to promote their line of motorcycle jackets/pants etc.) The CMA sent us(CMA competition licence holders) letters stating that if we entered and competed in a Brimaco event we would be barred from CMA events. I was racing AMCRA road races at what was the "new" Atlantic Motorcport Park at that time and when we got the letter it just made most of us want to go to Sanair to compete.I mean who did not want to be a rebel. The events were really good and better run than any CMA event I had done at Mosport at that time. Sanair was only a drag strip with a few turns and twists to make it track but it had a good rhythm. The Eastveld Bros and their Brimaco series was the beginning of the end for the then powerful and influential Canadian Motorcycle Assn.Possibly if things had been handled differently motor cycle sport in Canada would be a little better off today. I do not think Yvon Duhamel ever raced a Brimaco event,not because he was afraid to race against anyone but simply because he was contracted to race FIM events and could not afford to forfeit his licence. I think I raced my last Brimaco series event in 76 or 77,then they were gone.

No, I am not Dave Holland, but I knew him well. We both worked at RBC in Halifax(he was originally from Montreal)and raced bikes.Dave actually got me my job at RBC.We often traveled to the races together. Dave lives in Miami now, I have not seen him in years. Dave was a very fast rider,he was a supported MX rider for CZ in Canada before he entered road racing.I do not think I ever met anyone so motivated to win...I copied the way he would mentally prepare for a race and won the Maritime road racing Championship in 1977. My name is Bruce Monk From the pic of the two fellows next to the TZ ,I do remember those young fellows at the races.
